In December 2018 our family welcomed four nearly 9-month old Cormo and Cormo mix lambs from Wing and a Prayer Farm in Shaftsbury, VT. Lou, May, Bliss and Blossom quickly became beloved and cherished members of our growing homestead. They were patient and understanding as we navigated the world of shepherding, and have always been ever so gentle with the children. In March 2020 we added three more Cormos - Pearl, Penny, and Cocoa. Penny and Cocoa are Moorit ewes, having a fleece that is naturally oatmeal in color. They have acclimated to their new home beautifully. After sending our fleeces to the mill for spinning, I dye all of our yarn with plants found on our land as well as natural dyes from sustainable sources. I love playing with color and often mix exhaust baths with full strength dye pots to experiment and ensure that nothing is wasted. Our yarn is a tribute to the animals we care for. It is lofty and soft, but not without character. It’s grown with lots of love, plenty of green pasture and brilliant Berkshire sun.
